Check out Jay Wrights first paper on describing the staging behavior of migrating Rusty Blackbirds. Turns out that individual Rusties spend nearly a month in both spring and fall at our study area in the western basin of Lake Erie.  Jay used Motus to describe this phenomenon, which makes them much more similar in their migratory behavior to shorebirds than other songbirds.   Check it out here!
