I am very happy to share that our most recent publication, entitled "Experimental and observational studies of seasonal interactions between overlapping life history stages in a migratory bird", from our work on the physiology of seasonal interactions is now in press with Hormones and Behavior and also available if you contact me for a re-print.

This work details studies we performed in Jamaica to reveal interactions between non-breeding, migratory and breeding life history stages in the American Redstart. We demonstrated that the preparation for breeding in male redstarts while on their non-breeding territory can also advance their preparation for migration, ultimately leading to early departure from Jamaica. This early departure will presumably lead to early arrival at breeding areas, a strong determinant of reproductive success .

Our work highlights the critical need to study the full life-cycles of migratory birds in order to fully understand the ecology of populations.

Many thanks to my wonderful co-authors and advisers Pete Marra and Becky Holberton.
